SPEED RANGE TRANSFORMATION

Totally in line with our mission statement to stay in the lead as innovative designers of high quality, high performance products, we decided to take a good look at our size and sail ranges for this new season and re-arrange a good deal of things in the designs and lay-outs. 

BLISTERING SPEED, ACCELERATION AND LIGHTWEIGHT ERGONOMICS

It’s all about the right combination! KA SPEED is optimised for downwind speed runs with acceleration and top speed exceeding that of a full-blooded race sail.Thanks to the lightweight ergonomics of the KA SPEED, you will hardly know it’s there when you are blasting down your local speed strip and setting new personal speed records! 

KA SPEED VS KONCEPT?

Already in 2019 we decided to make the big change in the KONCEPT range, dividing this range into 2 separate parts (SPEED VS SLALOM). The smaller sizes KONCEPT were then transformed into 4-camber speed specials and the larger sizes KONCEPT remained 3-camber Slalom sails. For the sake of transparency and clarity within the range, this separation was taken a step further for 2020 and the KA SPEED range became a range on its own. 

UPDATED DESIGN FEATURES

These former KONCEPT Speed Specials (4.7 – 5.2 – 5.7) have been totally reworked with new panel lay-outs and fully updated graphic designs. The most noticeable change in these speed sizes is the considerable widening of the luff panel for improved stability in the sail. Furthermore, the luff round and shaping has been increased in the bottom half of the sail for more drive! 

SPEED SPECIAL WITH A FREERIDE OPTION

This 4-camber Speed range has a real focus on downwind speed sailing, with a refined twist optimisation. The bottom camber is however still adjustable, so it could be taken out if you want to use the sail for freeriding. 

RDM VS SDM CAMBERS

The KA SPEED sails (4.7/5.2) are delivered standard with RDM cambers, but are SDM compatible. The 5.7 comes standard on SDM cambers. Replacement sets are also available of course to make the switch between SDM/RDM.
