SIMPLY UNMATCHED IN QUALITY AND PERFORMANCE
MK3 has quite a different look and performance envelope than MK2 showing more surface area resulting in a wider tip and different competition skills. Specifically made for slalom and designed to win the race, the TRIBAL MK3 Carbon fin behaves exceptionally well when changing course in the heat of battle. But do not underestimate the fast downwind qualities of this fin! MK3 has exceptional qualities to point upwind in extremely choppy conditions and is a perfect match for the wide tail slalom boards offering great acceleration and outstanding top speed.
ZERO TWIST
Using zero-twist lay-up, we ensure optimal efficiency over an extensive range of loads and speeds. The outline contributes the balanced, nose-level trim in crosswind conditions, remaining stable and fast even when the wind picks up, but still flying through lulls and delivering unmatched power when accelerating through the lower gears. Top end is superb off the wind even with longer models - the board does not stick and limit your speed.
HIGHLY OPTIMISED CONSTRUCTION PROCESS
The construction process uses a highly optimised and automated resin transfer method using aerospace grade composites and specialised precision tooling, guaranteeing a zero-void result and ultimate consistency between batches. Blades are moulded in one shot, so the structure is not compromised like it is in other fins where two halves are glued together. Traditional wet lay-up or pre-preg methods result in significantly high void count- resulting in weaker structure, shorter lifespan, pinholes requiring a surface filler and hand sanding.
NO COMPROMISES
Ultimately these anomalies accumulate and result in noticeable differences from fin to fin and more often than not a suboptimal shape. With our construction process none of these compromises exist. Our fins are finished on a precision CNC machine to complete the trimming off of the trailing edges. This results in negligible variation from the design specification, between batches, or between fins in a batch. The proprietary process has taken fin manufacturing to a quality level not seen in any other product. These fins are truly beautiful in form and function…

FAQ
My fin doesn't fit in my board...
In practice, we see many boards with different boxes, so it’s always hard to get the perfect fit for all boards. Please do not be afraid to sand the box down a bit to get the perfect fit for your board. Also be aware, that if a fin sinks a bit into the box, it is not an issue. However, a fin that sticks out above the box is an issue and needs sanding down. If you do not feel comfortable with the fit, please do not hesitate to contact us.
For which fin boxes do you produce your fins?
We make our fins in Tuttle, Deep Tuttle and Power Bases. Per model you can specify what base you would like as long as the desired base is available for that certain fin. The MK3 is available in Tuttle Box or Deep Tuttle Box.
