COUPE DU MONDE DE WINDSURF GLORIA DE GRAN CANARIA 28 JUIN - 7 JUILLET

So we had a chat to TRIBAL's Marine Hunter about the PWA World Cup in Pozo beginning of this month... read more here:

"So for Pozo it was a very challenging event for me, I hadn't sailed a lot since the past year because of a shoulder injury and I didn't train a lot before the event because of work schedule, not the perfect context but I still wanted to do my best.

The slalom was really tough with only high wind conditions. I sailed all the time with 5.4 Tribal Apache-R, more or less overpowered and 90L, I could have done better but solely relying on my past experience I'm quite happy with my sailing. For me it really was down to making the least amount of mistakes possible which was demanding with the chop and the wind and staying focused with all the re-sailed heats because of over-earlies. I felt in control except for the jibe when I was too overpowered and I was comfortable with the gear, for me it's a big part of my performance as well and I want to thank you guys for letting me sail with the Apache-R!

For the waves I really wanted to do better but high winds are complicated for me and I had a tough 1st heat in the singles, in the end I didn't pass my heat but I was happy to land a good forward which is a really big challenge for me in 3.0. The doubles went really wrong, the wind dropped a bit during my heat and I was underpowered, I completely lost my focus in the beginning of the heat because there were still many people on the water; the organization didn't use the flags for the warm-up heat and no one saw when it started. Someone even stole my wave during the heat and I ended up stuck at the bunker, I couldn't make it out and didn't pass. Super disappointed but that's how wave contests go!

Now I'm slowly getting back to my level, and I'll go to Fuerteventura then Tenerife next. Thanks for your support ;-) "

Good luck to Marine at Fuerte and Tenerife!!
