One mast range. Full Tribal coverage. Convex masts are designed to work across the entire Tribal sail range. Key advantage is that all masts share the same bend curve resulting in a consistent feel across all set-ups. Easy switching between disciplines. No surprises when rigging different sails!

RDM works best in Wave, smaller Freeride and smaller Race sails, offering absolute control in strong winds. For riders who want maximum comfort and durability.
SDM works best in Freerace and Slalom sails for larger sizes (typically 430 and up). Offers a more direct response and maximum performance at speed!
MDM offers a balance between RDM comfort and SDM response, and is most often used in Slalom and Race sails.

Yes, but performance may vary. To get the intended behaviour of the sail, Convex is recommended.

What is the advantage of RDM vs SDM and MDM masts?

RDM (Reduced Diameter Mast) offers more control and durability.
SDM (Standard Diameter Mast) offers more direct response and top-end performance.
MDM (Medium Diameter Mast) offers a balance between RDM comfort and SDM response.

Can I use RDM masts in Race sails?

Yes, especially in smaller sizes with RDM cams.

Is this only for advanced riders?

What is the bend curve percentage of Convex?

Convex is a Constant Curve mast with Tribal tuning.

Most masts are called “constant curve”. But the real performance comes from curve percentage, material response and reflex behaviour.

Convex has a 14% curve, slight flex-top bias and is designed for progressive twist and control! This creates a smooth power release, better control in gusts and a wider wind range.
