KIOWA

Light. Reactive. Explosive. Carbon-threaded draft support, developed by riders for real waves.

Engineered for vertical wave sailing

A dedicated 4-batten wave sail for riders who want maximum freedom, instant response and a direct connection to the board. KIOWA is built for real wave conditions, where control is not just about power. It is about timing, balance and how naturally the sail follows your body through the turn.

For 2027, the outline, batten layout and lower-body structure were refined to create more draft stability and profile support without losing the light, neutral and reactive character that defines KIOWA.

KIOWA
WAVE DNA

Modern wave. Pure freedom.

The goal was not to make KIOWA more powerful at all costs.
The goal was to give a 4-batten wave sail more support where it matters, while keeping the freedom, drift and direct feel that make it special.

The wave character

The 4-batten feeling

  • Light in the hands
  • Neutral on the wave
  • Instant response when you sheet in
  • Maximum freedom through critical turns
The 2027 refinement

KIOWA 2027

  • Refined outline for cleaner control
  • Repositioned battens for better draft support
  • Carbon-threaded lower body material
  • More stability without killing manoeuvrability

Not more locked. More composed, rebuilt for 2027.

TRUE WAVE FUNCTION

Not a freeride sail pretending to be wave

KIOWA works because it is a dedicated wave sail from the start. It was not designed to feel planted, heavy or constantly powered. It was designed to let the board turn, release and reconnect with the wave.

A good wave sail should give drive when you need speed into the section, then go quiet when you want to drift. Too much structure makes the sail feel locked and heavy. Too little support makes the profile unstable when the wind gets messy.

For 2027, KIOWA finds that balance more precisely. The lower body has more support, the draft stays more composed and the sail still feels light, neutral and alive in the hands.

This is not Freeride comfort with a wave label. This is real Wave performance.

composed when powered

Light in the hands. Stable when it matters.

The new carbon-threaded lower body material plays an important role in the 2027 feeling. It supports the profile where drive, draft control and bottom-turn pressure matter most, without making the sail feel heavy or locked.

The repositioned batten layout adds support in the key draft area, while the 4-batten structure keeps the swing weight low and the handling fast. The result is a sail that feels more composed when powered, but still neutral when drifting down the line.

That is the difference riders feel immediately:

  • icon The sail feels light, reactive and direct
  • icon The lower body gives cleaner drive through the turn
  • icon The draft stays more stable in gusty wave conditions
  • icon The rig remains neutral and easy to place on the wave

With the correct constant curve mast, preferably with a slight flex-top tendency, KIOWA breathes smoothly through the head while the lower body keeps enough support for drive and stability. Rig it correctly, and the sail stays light, reactive and neutral, with the control you need when the wave gets critical.

Why riders prefer KIOWA

Freedom, by design

Light 4-batten handling

The reduced batten count keeps swing weight low and makes the rig feel smaller in your hands. Fast rotation, easy aerial control and relaxed one-handed feel.

Neutral drift

The refined outline helps the sail sit quieter in the neutral position, making it easier to stay connected to the wave during down-the-line riding.

Explosive response

Sheet in and KIOWA reacts instantly. The carbon-threaded lower body material supports the profile, giving cleaner drive through the bottom turn and more direct connection to the board.

Progressive twist control

With the correct mast, the head releases excess power smoothly while the lower body keeps drive, balance and stability.

What defines KIOWA

Light, neutral and ready to release.

KIOWA is defined by freedom. Light in the hands, neutral on the wave and explosive when you sheet in. The 2027 refinement adds more profile support and draft stability, but keeps the sail reactive, direct and easy to place exactly where you want it. Drop in. Release the rail.
