Why Omaha works so well
Not a race sail with one cam removed
Omaha works because it does not try to be a full race sail with one cam taken out. It was designed as a true FreeRace sail from the start. The balance between profile stability, rotation, sleeve feel, draft control and rider comfort is completely different from a pure race concept.
For 2027, the design has been rebuilt around efficiency and feel. The profile drives forward cleanly, but the rig stays comfortable and manageable when the wind increases. Every element is tuned so the sail feels familiar from the first run, but still has the speed and control to push hard:

The softer sleeve material plays an important role in the 2027 feeling. Compared to the more locked and structured sleeve materials used in our full Race sails, the Omaha sleeve gives a more forgiving, connected and comfortable feel.
It helps the sail breathe, rotate and settle naturally, while keeping the draft stable enough for serious FreeRace performance. Full Race sails need maximum structure; Omaha needs speed, but also comfort and feel. That's the difference you notice in your hands:

Because the feeling was an important inspiration point: smooth power, easy speed, clean rotation and a sail that stays fast without becoming too physical. Omaha is not a copy of the KONCEPT. It is a new Tribal design built with that FreeRace spirit in mind.

The softer sleeve material helps the sail feel more connected and less harsh in the hands. It supports smoother rotation, a more natural response and a classic FreeRace character. In comparison, full Race sails need maximum structure. Omaha needs speed, but also comfort and feel.
